Politics, Politics, Politics

Congress As House Republicans (and Democrat Jay Rockefeller) gear up to attack the Environmental Protection Agency's authority to protect Americans from global warming and harmful air pollution, it's a moment to appreciate such great journalists as Grist's Dave Roberts and Mother Jones' Kate Sheppard who put together some insightful pieces on just how successful these attacks might be.

Roberts discusses the anti-EPA Congressional folks using Congressional Review Act, and Sheppard covers Congressman Darrell Issa's encouraging a whole slew of energy companies to tell him just which EPA safeguards they want taken out.

To get a full picture of what will challenge protect public health, check out Climate Science Watch's great run-down of just who's planning what against EPA.

We need your help - it's time to defend the Clean Air Act. EPA must protect public health, don't let Congress stand in the way.
