Oil Fact and Photo of the Day

The Sierra Club is participating in an action that has us delivering a photo of and a fact about the effects of our oil addiction to members of Congress between now and the BP oil disaster anniversary on April 20. We'll also post them here each day. Some of the facts will also be about solutions to our oil dependence. Here is today's photo and fact.

Public transportation offers individuals affordable, energy efficient choices. Individuals who use public transportation save an average of more than $9,000 every year - and even more as the price of gas rises. (American Public Transit Association)
