Reducing our Oil Dependence
In his most recent weekly address, President Obama talks about energy innovation and gas prices. While he trumpets the fact that domestic drilling has expanded under his administration, he sends a message to some of his political detractors who've gone overboard with the "drill" mantra.
"You and I both know that with only two percent of the world's oil reserves, we can't just drill our way to lower gas prices," the president says. Being that oil is a global commodity, drilling here at home has little to no effect at your neighborhood gas station. The vocal pro-drill pushers are more interested in maintaining Big Oil profits, not relieving everyday Americans.
