12 Sierra Club Bloggers to Watch in 2013: Part III
This post is a continuation of Part I and Part II.
Kim Lovell
Director, Global Population and Environment Program
Kim is one of Sierra Club’s young and bright leaders,
directing the Global Population and Environment Program, which works to protect
the global environment and preserve natural resources for future generations by
advancing global reproductive health and sustainable development initiatives.
Through public advocacy and strategic partnerships, Kim
works to empower women, raise public awareness of reproductive health and
promote youth leadership, and decrease wasteful resource consumption. The
program is expanding in the new year -- keep an eye out for updates from Kim
and the program!
Check back to the Global Population and Environment’s website
for Kim’s upcoming column.
Ilana Solomon
Representative, Trade Program
Ilana joined the Sierra Club this past year as its trade
representative after working to confront climate change as a policy analyst
with ActionAid USA. She was even named one of “40 under 40 International
Development Leaders” in that position! Since joining the Sierra Club, she has
focused heavily on ensuring that the U.S. acts responsibly and considers the
environment and workers’ rights when joining and negotiating any proposed trade
pact. One such pact, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, has been in the works for a
number of years, and Ilana has represented the Sierra Club at negotiating
rounds throughout the year.
In 2013, Ilana will keep us updated on the progress of the
Trans-Pacific Partnership and any other times when the environment and trade
issues intersect via her Huffington Post column, on Sierra Club’s Compass, and on Twitter.
Justin Guay
Representative, International Program
Justin blogs bi-weekly on Sierra Club’s Compass and Huffington Post. You can also follow Justin on Twitter.
Javier Sierra
Bilingual Media Specialist
Javier’s Spanish-language column for the Sierra Club is called Ecocentro, and it’s cross-posted to Huffington Post. He tweets in both Spanish and English.
