No Climate Left Behind: American scientists are urging the U.S. to make greater steps in research and development of clean energy technology. As the nation currently lags behind other countries, they argue that the government must spend millions, if not billions more for the endeavor. TIME

California Steamin’: A new report regarding California's future in the face of global warming was released today. The report calls for immediate and long-term preparation for increased heat waves, wildfires, droughts, and floods. MSNBC

The Car of Tomorrow, Today! Nissan debuted “the world’s first affordable, zero-emissions car” today. The Nissan LEAF is a five-seater hatchback that can drive up to 100 miles on a single battery charge and is set for release in 2010. Nissan News

Lost and Found:  The identities of the three American hikers taken into custody in Iran last week were confirmed today. The three 20-somethings were on their way to a popular tourist location, but got lost and were arrested for crossing the Iranian border. The New York Times

Let’s Go Fly a Kite: This week Germany is hosting the World Kite Surfing Championships. The sport, born 10 years ago, is a combination of kite flying and surfing. ABC News
