Jack Bauer Saves the Planet

Car exploding Filmmaking isn't the only aspect of the entertainment industry that's going green. Season 8 of the hit show 24 premieres on Sunday, but according to the show's star, Kiefer Sutherland, the series started taking green initiatives way back in season 4.

This might surprise viewers, considering all the car chases and explosions that happen while Sutherland's character, Jack Bauer, protects the country from terrorists. Sutherland and other cast members hope to eventually make the entire production process carbon-neutral. Besides reducing waste and switching to biodiesel, 24's producers are buying carbon offsets to try to serve as a model for other TV series to adopt eco-friendly ways.
