When Traveling, How To Leave A Trail of Trees in Your Wake

Green travel Last month we told you about hotels whose Earth Day deals put them on our radar. Today we're highlighting two more travel-related Earth Day offers.

Moon, a guidebook publisher, is partnering with American Forests to plant 1,000 trees. They’ve also posted a trove of eco-travel information on their website. If you sign up for their e-newsletter by  Friday, you’ll have a chance to win a travel pack filled with guidebooks to nature-heavy destinations such as Costa Rica and Belize, plus a Kleen Kanteen

Also into planting trees is Adventure Smith Explorations, a company that specializes in small-ship cruises. Their pledge is to plant 100 trees for every new traveler that books a trip by May 15. For extra incentive, they're throwing in a 5 percent discount for any trip booked during this time. But even after the promotion ends, Adventure Smith will continue to plant 10 trees per traveler that books one of their land-based programs.
