Green Fashion Monday: An Organic, Philanthropic Pair of Jeans

Organic jeans On Fashion Monday, we highlight a hip, green fashion item. Got a stylish eco-friendly product to recommend? Tell us about it and look for it in an upcoming blog post.

Jeans are notoriously resource-expensive to produce. But if you just must replace a pair, consider investing in this “Slim Straight Jean” style from Nau, a Portland, Oregon, company that factors in the true cost of making clothing. (That is, you pay a bit more to ensure that your duds were ethically produced.) These untreated denim pants look and feel as stylish and durable as their nonorganic counterparts (ahem, Gap), with a bit of stretch. The difference is that these are made with 100% organic cotton, are fully recyclable, and 2% of your purchase price goes to a charity you choose. $180
