A little perspective when you talk about china's GDP being 2/3 of NA... GDP is measured in money, while pollution is measured in physical units... so, while China's GDP is low primarily because the cost of goods there is low, their physical production is surely much greater than NA... perhaps 5 times as great, no?

Pathetic. I can't believe you are condoning buying from China. If enough people would make an "individual" stand against all of the wrong that comes with products made in China, they would have to be impacted. It's all about supply and demand. No demand from foolish consumers purchasing trash from China, no need to supply.
